Morgado do Quintao Castelao 2019

Grape Varietals & Region: salas 100% Castelao, from Algarve, Portugal. 

Label Artwork: Teresa Vasconcellos (1941-2017) was a Portuguese artist, university professor and Master in Fine Arts. She managed Morgado do Quintão, her family’s estate, where she took great joy in witnessing the natural cycle of the vines. Her legacy is celebrated in this Castelão single varietal wine which showcases one of her works

Taste Profile: Dark red fruits as well as stewed plums and jam, on the finish it has notes of spice and hints of chocolate

Winemaking Process: Hand harvested, with a light pressing, pre-fermentation maceration at 14ºC, skin contact for 15 days, aged in French oak barrels for 15 months.
