Sardegna, or Sardinia in English, is an island located off mainland Italy in the Mediterranean Sea. The climate is hot and dry, with mild winters and warm summers. 

One of the most famous red grapes grown in the region is Cannonau, or Grenache, which produces rich, full-bodied wines with notes of red fruit and spices. Cannonau wines often have distinct characteristics that set them apart from other Grenache-based wines, including a higher level of tannins and acidity.

For white wines, the region is known for its Vermentino grape, which produces crisp, refreshing wines with citrus and floral notes. Torbato is another white grape variety that is grown in Sardegna, producing wines with a light body and delicate flavors of apple and pear.
